ghostbusters        Ghostbusters, the cult classic from the 80’is back. Remade this time with an all girls version of the paranormal fighters. For this classic to be re-booted and with an all women cast, I got to admit I was very skeptical when I first heard  this film was being made.  I believed in Mccarthy and Wiig, but I just didn’t know how they could come up with something to live up to the name. Well Wiig and Mccarhty definitely delivered stellar performances, but Leslie jones and Kate Mckinnon stole the show. Add in Chris Hemsworth as the girls secretary and guest appearences from the three remaining living originals, the film definitely did not disappoint.

Now getting to the plot of the movie. Paranormal researcher Abby Yates (Mccarthy) is reunited with her old friend  Erin Gilbert (Wiig) to prove that ghosts do exist. they team up with Patty Tolan ( Leslie Jones)  and engineer Jillian Holtzmann (Kate Mckinnon) to help save the city of New York. As a crazy ghost worshiper played by Neil Casey unleashes 100’s of ghost from other dimensions, the Ghostbusters armed with their new and improved proton packs are called upon to save the day.

Well the plot is kind  of similar this time with women, but this group did not let me down. A very stellar and funny cast along with awesome special effects shocked this critic and is a summer must see film. I was really glad to see the cameos from the original Ghostbusters, plus the mayor being played by acting legend Andy Garcia  just added to how good the movie was. Definitely don’t be shy about checking this film out and the kids will be fine if u have to bring them. Great time for the whole family.  (Fout out of five popcorn bags)
