For some reason I’m just not a huge Robert Deniro fan. So that teamed with Efron I was a little sketchy on watching this film. Plus from the trailer I wasn’t sure about the plot or the rest of the cast.
I couldn’t have been more wrong and shockingly glad I saw this film. And the plot turned out to be a unexpected and understandable one. We have Dick Kelly (Deniro) who recently lost his wife plans a road trip with his grandson Jason (Efron) from Atlanta to Florida.
Jason is a newly crowned lawyer who is about to marry his fiancée (Julienne Hough). On the way to Florida Jason and his Grandpa meet up with a crazy group of college students led by Aubrey Plaza who has a obsession with sleeping with old guys and Zoey Deutch who makes Jason reconsider his life decisions.
It turns out to be one crazy road trip and life lesson learned. The film is filled with vulgar and raunchy moments and language.
But chemistry is there between Efron and Deniro who delivers a comedic performance I did not think was possible from him, and turns out to be a hilarious on screen duo. If your up for a lot of laughs I recommend you go check this film out. Three out of five popcorn bags.
Now that’s Entertainment…
